Membership dues are used to fund our union’s mission.

Dues pay for training, legal services, and infrastructure such as websites and video calling platforms. Dues can support other funds to maintain our power through direct actions.

Monthly dues

  • $15/month - minimum for full-time employees

  • $20/month - annual gross salary between $30,000 and $49,999

  • $30/month - $50,000 to $69,999

  • $40/month - $70,000 to $99,999

  • $50/month - more than $100,000

  • $10/month - part-time employees, graduate students, undergraduates, retirees, and community supporters

Other unions at Iowa universities

Our union is wall-to-wall and is intended for those workers not already covered by collective bargaining agreements. We encourage those folks to join their existing unions - merit staff at all 3 universities (AFSCME), faculty at University of Northern Iowa, grad students at University of Iowa.
